She passes through a dark night ~

Some time ago, she entered a cave. 

She knew the journey ahead would require all of her.

Deeper into herself she went, collecting flowers and scars along the way.

Battles fought

Wisdom gained 

Only you will know the shadows she has seen in the depths of the cave.

Distant worlds illuminate her path from above

She is a daughter of the earth. 

She is the earth.

She is the cave.

The Bear walks beside her as an ally, a protector;

though whose to say it isn’t her,

perhaps it was how her scars came to be…

either way, she has made peace.

In the search for her flame, she never stopped moving.

She learned how to see in the dark –

she started drawing a spiral in the sand, 

and for each lesson learned…

the smaller the spiral became.

She enters into a ceremony with herself as she approaches the mouth of the cave.

Dawn is near, the sun misses her face.

Bird medicine assists her,

there is a skeleton of a snake. 

It has undergone the ultimate transformation into an entirely new form… 

just as she has, time and time again.

She must move intentionally, as the alter objects are carefully placed across her crimson robes;

were she to move unconsciously,

the altar would scatter into disarray. 

She has found her flame,

& as she comes to know herself,

She realizes she is the flame.

She Emerges ~
